MGA Enjoy more success at the Design Awards
We are delighted to be able to report more awards for the MGA trophy cabinet. At the recent Lancaster and District Design Awards we were presented with an Award for our recently completed 'Greater Grater' Domestic project in Lancaster and a Commendation for a pair of new traditional new build cottages within the Slyne Conservation Area.
MGA Director and Project Architect Lee Donner was in attendance to recieve the awards:
"When the new owners of this unusual 1970s detached house, known locally as the cheese grater for its unorthodox shape and sloping mono-pitch roof, on the edge of a Lancaster Conservation area asked us to help them alter and extend it, we felt that the new additions should be in a contemporary style in the same vein as the original property was ‘of its time’.
The house has been significantly altered internally to bring the principal living space down to the ground floor, combined with a contemporary Zinc clad rear extension, opening out to the extensive garden.
The new extension roof is part balcony with frameless glazed ballustrade and part sedum, green roof
The project has been a terrific collaboration between our enthusiastic clients, a great design team at MGA and MG Enviromental and a talented construction team led by TCL Developments"
